Molly & Bobo

What a day! Molly just went to sleep and it's almost 11:00 at night. We started the day at the Chinese consulate where we attended an invitation-only party to celebrate the coming spring festival and Chinese New Year. We got to be among the 30 families invited because of Marie's work with FCC (Families with Children from China) We saw presentations on the Chinese zodiac, the upcoming Beijing olympics, and a performance of traditional chinese music all at the Hancock Park mansion of the Consulate General. We even gave a brief interview to a journalist from Shanghai.
Then, tonight she went to her first concert. Janet Klein and her Parlor Boys are a great local band playing traditional music from the 20's and 30's. She got lots of smiles as she danced and shimmied and pulled Dad up to the front of the stage to boogie to the 'Black Bottom Blues'. (go to janetklein.com for info on her. Good stuff)
The photos this time are long overdue. Uncle Frank and Aunt Joan sent Molly a new Gorilla holding a baby Gorilla. She LOVES it. It is just like the Gorilla and baby in a book she loves called 'Hug'. That gorilla is named Bobo and as soon as Mom said "It looks like Bobo." She pointed and said "Bo-bo". Now she has officially named him (them) that and despite its size she takes them into bed every night with her. Thanks Joan and Frank. Another winner.
Injury update: She's doing great. The stitches on her cheek needed to be drained last week and I think will need to be done again next week but other than that she is coming along great.
