Easy Rider

After several trips to multiple bike shops Marie finally got a new bike. True to a southern california girl she got a beach cruiser. And Molly has a brand new bike seat that sits on the front of the bike so she has a great view. For her first ever time on a bike - Molly LOVED it! She was all smiles as Mom rode her up and down the street. Molly has many summer days of bike riding by the beach ahead of her.

Play date with Molly's FCC friends

On Saturday we hosted a potluck dinner at our house with our FCC(Families with Children from China)play group. Five families joined us and the girls had a great time. Lots of food, running and playing in Molly's kitchen. I just love the look of pure joy on Molly's face.

Last Day of Art Class

Today was Molly's last day of art class at the Zimmer Museum and by far the messiest. Lots of paint and glitter, what more could a girl ask for. The paint in class today came out of can and was foamy like shaving cream so Molly found it much more fun to use her hands than the paint brushes.

The sunshine of our lives

Just wanted to share this picture. We've had weird weather here the last few days so this was a rare window of sunshine. Somehow it suits her to always be shot with rays of light surrounding her.

Back to Art Class

Well, we had to miss music class last week but we got well in time for art class with Da. This class was painting, the girls were given brushes but of course finger(or should I say hand) painting seemed like more fun.

Out Sick

As you can see by the date of our last post we've stayed home for some much needed rest to recover from being sick. Molly and I got it bad and somehow Eric fought it off. In case you were wondering . . . yes we were sick on Mother's Day and yes it was a bad, bad day. There's always next year.

Making Faces With Daddy

Molly has turned into quite the little mimic. She and Dad were sitting at the table after dinner and things got goofy when Dad started making silly faces and Molly joined right in. There were so many good ones we had to do a slide show to get them all in. After the face making Molly wanted to know why Daddy had hairy armpits. When he showed her she was truly horrified. Mom found this very funny.

sticker time

One of Molly's favorite activities is sitting at her desk and playing with stickers, stickers can entertain her for a good hour at a time. This is perfect after nap time when Mom is trying to make dinner. Her favorite stickers are the boxes of foam letters, numbers and animals that her Aunt Joan and Uncle Frank sent her. As you can see in the photo below she likes to stick them to the tile floor. Usually by the time her Dad makes it home for dinner the kitchen floor is covered with her carefully placed stickers; luckily they come off easily.

Stop to Smell the Roses . . .

. . .or the snapdragons

Molly just loves smelling the flowers! She stopped to smell every snapdragon in this front yard. She always stops to smell the flowers; it doesn't matter if she is walking, in the stroller or turning the page in a book. How sweet and beautiful she is and she constantly reminds me that there is always time to stop and enjoy the simple things in life.

Body Art

Molly started going to Toddler Art at The Zimmer Childrens Museum with her friend Matilda. I think they both had a great time! Not sure if there was more glitter and ink on the art projects or on the girls.

Earth day

Molly went to an earth day celebration at the Eco Station and had fun while learning about the environment. She made friends with a skeleton and touched a snake. (it started kind of more like Halloween than Earth Day)

Then she stopped by the face painting tent but chose to get her face paint on her arm (it was a lady bug on a vine). She also got a tattoo on her other hand (the Chinese word for love)

She played some games like toss the ball into the water and feed the monkey a banana which I suppose taught her something about recycling or melting ice caps.
