It's off to China we go . . .

Today we got our official 3rd call telling us that we will be leaving for Guangzhou, China on Friday June 22nd. We will lose one day during the flight and arrive in China on Sunday June 24th. On Monday the 25th we will finally meet Bai Xiaoxiao (our little Molly) and welcome her into our family. We have waited so long that it still doesn't feel real and it may not until we find ourselves scrambling around the week we leave. Surely it will feel all too real when we change our first diaper or have our first crying, screaming fit but it will also feel real when we can finally hold her close and feel her warmth and hold her to us so she can feel our heartbeats and know that we, too, are real for her - this myth of a family unit that she has never known will become her world. Surely she will never remember the time in her life before we became a family and it is our duty to make sure she never knows what it is like to not be surrounded by love and support. It all starts with that first kiss on her forehead in just a few weeks now.

We booked our flights today and the flight to China will be 15 1/2 hours there and almost 13 hours back with Molly. We will be staying at the China Hotel in Guangzhou which is a Marriott for the entire two week time that we are in China. It is a beautiful hotel and as much as we would like to see more of the country it will be easier on us to not have to travel once we get there. 100% focus on Molly and mastering the crash course in parenting so we can fool everyone that we know what we're doing by the time we get home. The hotel has a great swimming pool and we can't wait to splash around with Molly, we were told in her referral that she loves bath time so we're thinking she's going to love swimming just like her Auntie Riley and Kaitie.

Hold on Molly, Mommy and Daddy will be there soon!!!

I am so happy for your news! You both are so deserving of this! I know that Molly will be so grateful as an older child to read of such a wonderful "love story" between her and her "God sent momma and daddy". May you have a safe trip to and from China and delight in the gift of your precious little girl! Know that you all are loved and prayed for.
Bon voyage!
