Molly's first day at preschool

Tuesday was Molly's first day of preschool! She is going to a wonderful little school in downtown Culver City called Happyland. It was our first choice and really only choice. We visited many preschools but fell in love with Happyland and kept our fingers crossed that they would have a spot for Molly. To give you an idea of how popular this school is we put Molly on the list when she was still in China!

Molly had an amazing 1st day and loves her school and teachers as much as we hoped she would. She started her first day already knowing many of the kids that she has been buddies with through the MOMS Club of Culver City or the the many classes she has taken around town. We feel so blessed to have been able to find Molly a little bit of small town community in Culver City within our bigger city of Los Angeles.

Molly is attending school all day on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We originally hoped for 3 half days because we felt at age three all day was too long but they only had two full days available so we took it. Good thing because Molly does not like to leave a party early which she proved once again on her visit day to Happyland. We were invited to spend a half day and meet the teachers and give Molly the lay of the land. Well Mom had to take Molly out the door kicking and screaming "I don't want to go home". So we were not surprised when Molly had so much fun her first official day that she stayed until almost 5:00 p.m. Of course Mom called the school several times throughout the day to see if Molly was doing okay and if we should pick her up. Every time Mom was told she was having a great day and to leave her at school if we weren't in a hurry.

For those of you who know Molly's story from the beginning you know how amazing it is for us to see our girl so brave and confident to venture out without us. It's hard to believe that less than a year ago we still hadn't had a date night and it was impossible for Molly to separate for only 10 minutes when we were on the other side of the room. You've come a long way Molly Xiaomei, Mom and Dad love you more than you can imagine and we are so excited to watch you grow in your new world at school.
